Expression levels of matrix metalloproteinase 2 protein in preinvasive and invasive cervical lesions and its clinicopathological association: a North Indian study

Background Matrix metalloproteinase (MMPs) play an important role in development of female genital cancers and metastasis. The aim this study was to analyze expression levels MMP2 various grades cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) cervix its association with clinicopathological variables. Patients methods This prospective carried out a tertiary care center Northern India over period 1 year. A total 664 participants gynecological complaints unhealthy were recruited for colposcopy. Of these, 70 biopsy samples obtained from higher grade colposcopy lesions, where 15 chronic cervicitis, 40 CIN [CIN1 (14), CIN2 (eight), CIN3 (18)], cases SCC cervix. All enrolled final analysis.
